Media Circle of D. S. Senanayake College

    The Media Circle of D. S. Senanayake College has been publishing the school’s newspaper, Siyapatha, for 24 years. This trilingual publication in Sinhala, Tamil, and English showcases the creativity of our students. Each term, students contribute essays, poems, artwork, and drawings, making the newspaper an important part of the school.  We take great pride in producing Siyapatha to ensure it’s not only enjoyed within the school but also recognized across the island. Every edition reflects the ideas and creativity of our students, with each individual contributing in their unique way. Siyapatha has grown beyond just a school project, becoming a symbol of the school’s values. It represents the spirit of D. S. Senanayake College and has earned a reputation for excellence.   WELCOME TO THE MEDIA CIRCLE OF D. S. SENANAYAKE COLLEGE

Articlezen can be known as the first ever collaboration of Media Circle and the Quiz club of D. S. Senanayake College. The Quiz club took care of the article writing competition while the Media Circle organized the article reading competition. The basic idea was that the best articles from the article writing competition will be selected as the scripts for the article reading competition. As time went the competitions grew closer. Before we knew it, it was already over and we had a handful of winners as a result .   It’s only a matter of time till you all strive further and achieve more victories in a larger range. The Media circle and the Quiz club of D. S. Senanayake College would like to wish our hearty congratulations to you all.    

කොළඹ ඩී.ඇස්.සේනානායක විද්‍යාලයීය ජනමාධ්‍ය කවය විසින් සංවිධානය කළ "දීපාලෝක" වෙසක් පහන් කූඩු තරඟාවලිය මැයි මස 16 වන දා සිට 29 වනදා දක්වා පැවැත්වුණි. උද්ගත වී තිබූ කොවිඩ්-19 වෛරස තත්ත්වය හේතුවෙන් රට වසා දමා පැවැතුන තත්ත්වයකදී වුවද තුන්ලොවක් සදහම් සිසිලෙන් සනසා වදාල තිලෝගුරු බුදුරජුන්ගේ තෙමඟුල සමරන වෙසක් පුන් පොහෝ දිනය කේන්ද්‍ර කරගනිමින් සංවිධානය කළ "දීපාලෝක" වෙසක් පහන් කූඩු තරඟාවලියට දිවයිනේ නන් දෙසින් තරඟකරුවන් රාශියක් සම්බන්ධ වූ අතර සමස්ත තරඟයෙන්ම ප්‍රථම, දෙවන හා තෙවන ස්ථාන දිනාගත් තරඟකරුවන්ට රීලෝඩ් ත්‍යාග පිරිනමමින් දීපාලෝක තරඟාවලියේ අවසානය 2021.05.29 වන දා සනිටුහන්  කිරීමට අප සමත් උනා. ජයග්‍රහකයින්ට කොළඹ ඩී.ඇස්.සේනානායක විද්‍යාලයීය ජනමාධ්‍ය කවයේ සුභාෂිංසන එක්කරන අතර අප හා එක් වූ සියලූම තරඟකරුවන්ට මෙන්ම තරඟාවලිය සාර්ථක කර ගැනීමට සහය දුන් සියලූම දෙනාටත් අපගේ හදපිරි ස්තූතිය!  

The "Soorya Mangalyaya" Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival which was organized by the Media Circle of D. S. Senanayake College with the sponsorship of "Guru TV" (Dialog TV channel no 22) was broadcasted on the 14th of April in Guru TV. This project of ours was filled with traditional activities and it's also a speciality to do all of this while obeying the Covid-19 guidelines. However, this is not an accomplishment we achieved alone. We had the support of the College Eastern Music Section, the College Dancing Section and also the support of Devi Balika Vidyalaya.

  During the "Soorya Mangalyaya" New Year Festival hosted by the Media Circle of D. S. Senanayake College we donated school items to the Arichchikattuwa primary school Chilaw in relation to the famous new year tradition "ganu denu kereema" and this was done during the 30th of May. As guests of this occasion, we had the attendance of the Principal of D. S. Senanayake College Prasanna Udhumuhandiram Sir, the President of the Old Boys' Association Pasad Weerasekara Aiya, the Secretary of the school development association Mr. Priyantha Sahabandu, the Master in Charge of the Media Circle Kanchana Perera Madam, Menaga Sathyamoorthi Madam, Dhammika Jayasinghe Sir and Nuwan Rathnayake Sir.
